Following a trip to London Heathrow for a flight to Barcelona i am certainly recommending driving and parking your car at the airport if you are seeking to reduce costs. The petrol and parking for four days cost a total of £55, while a taxi would have been a minimum of £100.
While taking a tube and train through London may have only cost £15, trains do not run from one end of London to the other at 4am. Furthermore - travelling from East London to Heathrow is an absolute nightmare.
If you are considering taing your car - book in advance to take advantage of cheap rates, otherwise you are charged at £15 a day. While environmentalists may cry in horror over our backing of the car, I think you'll find your wallet and mentality will thank you for it.
