Getting ready for pride is not just about know when, where and who you're going with, it's also about the things we easily forget about - then curse ourselves once we've left the house or stuck in the situation. So, gaypedia has pulled together a Check List before opening the door to the big gay world of Pride.
1. Check the weather: Is it poncho time or sophisticated shades? Do you need a hat to look after that scalp, or sun lotion to protect you from all-day sun
2. Leave your wallet at home: Carry a pouch with your cash, much safer on busy streets and in banging clubs
3 Phone fully charged: Don't leave without having a full battery, finding friends may just be a nightmare among 1 million people
4, Camera ready: Is it charged, have you stored your existing photos, have enough room on your memory card?
5 Dehydration: don't get caught out with busy bars, hectic supermarkets or pelting sun. Pack a few bottles of your favourite tipple (and a water) to make sure you don't go high and dry!
6 Safety first: Always comes first, if you drink all day make sure your prepared for the night. Slide a couple of rubbers (condoms) down your pants for the after-party
7 Identity: Take your I.D card with you be it a driving licence or passport etc. If you do end up in the back alleys, you may need someone to guide you home
8 Hotel details: Together with your I.D make sure where you need to go back to after the party has finished. Grab a card from the hotel foyer on the way out, or write it clearly on a piece of paper (that won't get wet from sweat) and store it safely
9 Tell people where you are: Inform friends or a relative if you are going it alone
10 Events list; Find out what events are happening wherever you are - know what's going on and where, obviously with gaypedia.
