I spent 5 days in Rio de Janeiro in Feb 09 just during Carnival. Rio is amazing from its sightseeing as Cristo redondo to the Sugar loaf. Ipanema is beach is much nicer than Copacabana while the latter is the most famous one. Weird....:)
People are very friendly, food is really nice and Caipirinha are very dangerous in the sense that you start drinking one, two and three without really noticing that you're drinking alcool actually :)
