Guadalajara

Home of Mariachi, Tequila, and Mexico's largest openly gay community, Guadalajara is the capital of the state of Jalisco. Founded more than 460 years ago, it is the second largest city in Mexico (metropolitan area has a population of over 4 million).  The center city boast a Spanish colonial atmosphere. Outer neighborhoods range from swank modern barrios for the wealthy to vibrant neighborhoods filled with artists.  The city has a young vibrant feel due in large part to being the home of one of the nations largest, and most prestigious universities (Universidad de Guadalajara).  

The city is extremely gay friendly, has more than 20 gay venues  and host a very exciting gay pride parade.
