I guess a lot of the people who have been to Mykonos, would say it belongs to on of the top10 destinations for gay vacation.

And you are right as of today Mykonos attracts millions of Gay tourists who like the panorama and the spirit of the local people.

The Gay tourism started already back in the 70th´s as Mykonos was one of the few places where you could find some respite from the world´s rather stereotyped views on homosexuality. The other point you need to keep in mind is that a lot of the islands has remained unscathed by the invasion of modernity like the huge hotels and apartments as it took place in the most travel destinations.
 

You will recognize that Mykonos itself looks more like a village then a metropolis, only the numerous shops will remind you that it is not only a small village…

The people itself are pretty open and transparent and have a fewer inhibitions as far as sexual preferences are concerned, therefore you will only find a few taboos.
