Windsor is a royal village just West of Central London. The village has for many hundreds of years been the home of numerous royal families and plays host to Windsor Castle where the biggest Queen of Great Britain (if not the World) lives.Queen Elizabeth 2nd has considered Windsor her retreat and home all her life.
Windsor plays host to many festivals, royal events and a couple of gay bars. It is an open-minded town and very much is the resident of affulent families, couples and singletons. Windsor is a short train ride from central London and a perfect location for a day out or a night away.
Windsor being a royal residence has received a lot of attention over the years and has grown in size and establishment in the last 20 years - the Windsor Castle fire brought attention to it once again in the early 1990's.
It is mainly busy during the weekends and school holiday season and very popular with tourists, however it is a welcome retreat for both those who live in the local area and Londoners. It is an affluent town with many recognised designer names and also some high-quality independent stores.
