Bucharest gay scene isn't very complex.  

Now in the year 2011 there is a single gay bar in Bucharest,  a small location , situated in hystorical centre of Bucharest( whose streets are under construction now and full of mud if it is raining). 

There is also some private services especially designed  for gay people, services which are provided  at the clients residence . The people which provide this services have no criminal record and they are making medical tests perodically. 

Some public venues ( public toilets, glory hole) are used by gay  people to get sex without complication, but for many time it was shown that these venues are frequented by scammers.

To be gay in Romania is  legal begining with the year 2000, when the criminal law article which incriminated public gay behavior was abolished. Althought it has passed  11 years since then,  the gay life in Bucharest isn't so glamorous as Amsterdam gay life or as the gay life from any other city with a long  gay life history &  gay culture.  Many people are still afraid  having a  public gay behaviour because of the  romanian mentality about being gay (mentality who didn't change at all  and  perhaps it won't change very soon.)
