The Regenbogen Rainbow Ball is an international charity event which has been steadily gaining popularity over last few years. Organized by the multiple gay communities’ in Austria, this event attracts participation from approximately 1,500 Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender guests. This Ball event takes place during the Viennese ball season in the elegant Park hotel Schonbrunn. The main hall features a live orchestra whereas various other contemporary bands and DJs keep playing from many side lounges and hotel bars. An important attraction of this event is the midnight quadrille, which consists of guests dancing together in unison under the instruction of Master Wolfgang Stanek.

Through this Ball event , the Vienna’s LGBT community  gets  a chance to celebrate itself .The ball event  is being organized in the Imperial Palace’s ballrooms by the tried and tested team of the Homosexual Initiative (HOSI) Vienna under the leadership of Christian Högl. All the LGBT people, along with their friends and supporters are invited to participate and enjoy a sparkling night of music and dancing which promises to be great fun and entertainment for all.

Christof Cremer will be the artistic director whose artistic direction will add that certain something to this classical ball making it more enjoyable. The opening dancers, from the dancing school Stanek, will not be strictly adhering to traditional ball clothing. Subsequently, the dancing formation Les Schuh Schuh will spin and twist conventional role models by changing who leads, switching partners and doing some cross-dressing, and thereby putting them together in a totally new way. Their sweeping and ironic performance, which has been immensely popular since 2002, also picks Austria and Vienna as its theme. To provide a wide range of music throughout the night, there will be several orchestras of different genres, with a focus on the rhythms of the 1920s to 1940s, 1970s and 1980s.

The net profit of the Rainbow Ball has traditionally been used to support the work of the HOSI Vienna and to finance several LGBT causes, such as HOSI Vienna’s educational project “Peer ConneXion”, the “Regenbogenparade” and the “Vienna’s pride parade”.

Though the Standard ticket has been priced at € 70 per ticket, a discounted price of € 40 per ticket are available for pupils, apprentices, students and senior citizens upon showing valid social ID as proof.
