London hosts World Pride 2012, is a festival celebrated by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people which will be held in London from 23 June to 8 July 2012 at the Trafalqar Square. This annual event is organized by the “InterPride, World Pride”. The “Pride London” gay parade event is incidentally one of the largest and most popular cultural events in UK. The founder for the Pride event was Paul Stenson. The first edition of the World Pride event was held in Rome in the year 2000. Thereafter, after a gap of five years, the second World Pride was held in Jerusalem in the year 2006.

The “Interpride” is an association formed by coming together of the coordinators of various Pride events. The association meets in its annual meeting, decides the venue for the Pride festival. It is noteworthy that the event is going to be held at the same time when two other important events, namely the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebration and the London Olympic games’2012 will also be held.. Hence it is being anticipated that the attendance for the Pride event will be very large as people from across the globe will be encouraged to come to London in great number and enjoy all the three events. 

During this Pride festival the London Pride parade will be organized on 7th July 2012. The festival will last for two weeks and is expected to be attended by approximately a million people. The festival will go a long way in promoting issues concerning the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. In order to do so, during this festival there will be various kind of fun activities, parade and diverse types of cultural activities.
