Carnival Rio, held in Brazil, is one the world's most famous carnival. The carnival consists of vibration along Rio with gay clubs, street parties and the beautiful and vibrant samba parade. The Carnival Rio 2012 will begin on 17th of February and will last till 21st of February ‘2012. The venue for the carnival will be Sambadrome - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. People various samba schools which includes Uniao de Sonhadores, Mocidade Independente, Imperio Serrano, and Academicos do Salgueiro, Unidos da Tijuca, and Beija-Flor de Nilopolis participate in this carnival parade. A large number of international tourists also attend this parade. The carnival also arranges samba competitions for school. Each school is supposed to choose one theme and accordingly they are supposed to have make-ups and costumes related to the theme. The carnival time is full of fun, dancing and music. 

The main and one of the most important attractions of the parade is samba dance which is a Brazilian dance with African influence. The samba of Rio is known as batucada. Rio Carnival lasts for four complete days during which people dance, sing, and party and basically has lot of fun. Many exciting parties also are held during the carnival days. Some of the other exciting events which will be taking place during the festival are: samba parades, carnival balls, magic balls, rio scala balls, samba land, samba school nights, street parties, street bands, sambodromo rehearsals, street rehearsams, samba city and merry making in lapa.  Given the popularity of the parades, the balls, and the street carnivals, Rio’s carnival is said to be the greatest and the biggest show on Earth. As per the Rio de Janeiro handbook the carnival states, “The Rio carnival is probably the most famous party in the world.”
