Kingston is a Canadian city which is situated in Eastern Ontario. Kingston was the first capital of the Province of Canada and it officially came into being on February 15, 1841. The city also has an important military installation. A large number of old buildings are built from limestone. As a result it is also famous as the “Limestone City”. Kingston has a reasonably good sized gay population.

The Gay Pride Parade was held in Kingston city for the first time way back in the year 1989. The event originated when a small group of men, women, lesbian, gay, queer, straight, teens, activists and supporters met in the City Hall. The Kingston Pride works in different areas which include business institutes, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, prisons, police service, military etc. 

The aim of the organization is to abolish the unfavorable treatment and partiality against the LGBT community. Kingston Gay pride is very popular both among local people as well as international tourists and it is attended every year by thousands of people. The exact dates for the 2012 event are yet to be finalized. 

The Pride event will be beginning with a pre-pride dance party. The party will be having dance and live music played by popular DJ bands. The admission fee for the party is normally between $6.00 and $10.00. There is also a volleyball night which is free. Since the event will be having large number of interesting event with drinks, food and some spectacular entertainments, overall it will be a very memorable experience. There will also be an official Pride art show. A post parade picnic will also be held. Additionally there will be a post pride dance party as well. Refreshments will be served during these post pride events.
