The next edition of the “South Florida Pride Fest “event will be held in 2012. In fact the, the organizers will be celebrating the 35th Anniversary in March of 2012. The dates for the event will be Saturday, March 10th and Sunday, March 11th. The official Pride Fest events, however begins a week prior to the main Pride Fest weekend.  The Pride fest will be held at several of the nightclubs and venues throughout the town. 

The aim of having the Pride Fest event is to celebrate the diverse and unique culture of the people belonging to the LGBT community. Traditionally, the venue for the Pride Fest event has been the Takpopular Holiday Park / War Memorial Auditorium. The celebration   which takes place over the weekend includes non-stop entertainment. Many local DJ’s participate in the event. Approximately two hundred to three hundred vendors have confirmed their participation for the Pride event. One of the major festival highlight will be the specially created dance tent which will be having a large dance floor. Although the stage will be an outdoor one, since the dance floor will be covered by a quilt, bad weather won’t be able to spoil the fun. Plenty of options as far as food is concerned will be made available to the visitors. Comedy shows will also be organized during the event.  Various sport competitions will also be held. There will be special areas for support and education of the LGBT community.

The tickets for the event have been priced at $10.00 per person per day . Concessional pricing for students possessing a valid student identity card will be $5.00 per Student per day (w/valid ID). Visitors are pre informed that the car parking rates will be $6.00 Per Day – Parking. Importantly the proceeds collected from the sale of the tickets will be used for the benefit of the LGBT community.
