Taiwan Gay Pride or Taipei Gay Pride is the annual gay parade in Taiwan. The first parade was held in the year of 2003.More than 30,000 peoples from all over the world joined the parade but the first importance is always Taipei. The Taiwan Gay Pride is one of the biggest which is occurring on a large scale gay pride parade in Asia. The last Taipei Gay Pride was held in 29th of October with two day event programs which are: 1. Collective action "vote comrades policy” landscape, 2. "Cast their vote". The march was initiated from Kaidagelan Blvd and then separated in to two routes west route and east route. The West route was started from Ketagalan Avenue, Park Road to Chongqing South Xiangyang Road then China to Hengyang Road. After reaching Hengyang Road the parade moved through Hankou Street to Pavilion Road, Zhongshan South Road, Hsiao West Road Section and last point is Ketagalan Boulevard. The east route was begun from Ketagalan Boulevard to Jinshan South Road, Xinyi Road, Heping East Road, and then to Roosevelt Road, Zhongshan South Road finally reached at the finishing point Ketagalan Boulevard.
Each year the pride has different-different themes. For 2011 the theme was “LGBT Fight Back, Discrimination Get Out!". They also introduced “Rainbow Lion”. The roaring symbolizes community’s resoluteness to fight against discrimination with no compromise.
Year by year the organization make a good advantage to increase awareness within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community and also number of supporters, participants increases. But still some adverse treatment based on racial, sexual prejudice and this is raised with dignity to demolish the association achievement over the years fighting for equal rights. In 2010 the Pride began charity activities also. "Rainbow ambassador" Fish Leong donated her sunglasses to the Taiwan Pride Parade Union.
