The hours of Faun
Painting - water colour - graphics
July 30th - October 5th, 2009
This years exhibition of Robert C. Rore entitled ‘The hours of Faun’.
It is no secret that Robert likes to fill his atelier with classical music whilst he works and one can instantly recognise this from the presented collection. He quotes ‘Prelude a l’apres midi d’un faune’ by Claude Debussy for this year annual exhibition.
Surprisingly he allows the uniquely defined mid-afternoon appearance of Faun to shift between morning, afternoon to evening in his paintings. The hint to Debussys’ personality is no less interesting. His work stands for the connecting link between romanticism and modern era and its common knowledge he took inspiration from paintings whilst composing. Some of his compositions caused sturdy scandals in between his contemporaries.
The faun himself is the italic god of free nature, a wait-pipe or flute playing mythical forest spirit, who protected the harvest, ensured fertility for people and animals, caused bewilderment when occurred not as a single creature but in a simultaneous multiple appearances.
Painted music, voluptuousness, indulgence, nature, sunlight, Blue hour, night sceneries, and much more. All this is what viewers of Robert C Rore’s paintings can expect this year. And as always - stunning good looking men are causing lots of bemusement.
The private view takes place at 30.07.2009, starting at 8 pm in presence of the artist. On the occasion of the Hans-Sachs-Street-festival the gallery will stay open till late, likewise every evening previous to the opening of the Oktober Fest (Bavarian Beer Festival) on 19.09.2009.
