Stockholm Event: The Stockholm Pride Festival

Since its inception in 1998, Stockholm Pride has grown to become the largest in the Nordic region. The programme includes art exhibitions, debates, films, seminars, parties and a big parade on the final Saturday. The heart of Stockholm Pride is the Tantolunden in the trendy Södermalm district. This houses the main festival area (Pride Park and Pride House), with restaurants, cafés, boutiques and the centrepiece - the large stage where there are performances every afternoon and evening. Pride is also celebrated elsewhere around town - you'll come across many rainbows. The parade starts at Humlegården/Engelbrektsgatan and continues to Pride Park via Birger Jarlsgatan, Norrlandsgatan, Kungsträdgårdsgatan, Strömbron, Skeppsbron, Slussen, Södermalmstorg, Hornsgatan, Ringvägen and Zinkens road. Last year set a record of over 40,000 participants in the parade and 400,000 in the audience!
