The gay Pride festivals celebrate the gender identity of the LGBT community all over the world. These festivals are based on the concept of gay pride or being proud of one’s gender identity. The festivals attempt to promote the equality of the LGBT population with any other individual in the world. The festival is celebrated with different names in different parts of the world. However, irrespective of the name, the program structure and objective of the event remains same all over the world. The Brighton and Hove Gay Pride celebrated in Brighton in England is one such gay pride event that caters to the LGBT population in the region.

This event was organized on 1st of August in the year 2009. The event started off with the Pride Parade. The Pride Parade commemorated the struggle for gay rights, gay liberalization and gay pride. It has evolved from the protest marches that were held by the gay strugglers to fight for the gay rights. The Pride Parade, nowadays, has taken the form of a very colorful rally that accommodates walkers, dancers and floats. The parade was followed with a party in the park. This party includes music, dance and other cultural activities. There are stalls for food, drinks and other goodies. Mostly the funds gathered go to charity.
