Necessarily figurative drawings and paintings don't always give a precise mirror image of reality. Its actually quite the opposite.

At the best the artist succeeds to create a kind of a pictogram by ignoring or accentuate a certain gesture or characteristic. Virtually the viewer of the painting might understand this like passing by a traffic sign.

There are many depictive representations, which are instantly recognised and radiate vast fascination due to their proportion and aesthetics; starting with the prehistoric portrayals of hunters in the caves at Lascaux through to the genius character of mutinous manikin 'La Linea'.

For our group exhibition of 'The Male Figure' we invited artists only, who have a dab hand at portraying a male figure with a few hints or an outline with a brief stroke in aesthetics and authentic manners as well as in a most high standard.

So you will find masterly painted colour fields, as well as graceful lines, which ideally show the beautiful eroticism of a male body.
