The Long Island pride parade which will take place on June 13 this year is going to be grand as the committee is completing 20 years of celebration. Being the 20th year, efforts are being done in order to make Long Island pride parade as grand and massive as possible. The step off for the parade will take place at Municipal Parking on Gerard St. which is opposite to the Huntington Post Office around 1 PM. From there a rally will start moving down Main Street and after that it will go to Prime Ave into Heckscher Park and then pride in the park.

As per the records last year large numbers of people visited the parade and if you want to become a spectator then do visit early so that you manage to get a good place to watch the entire parade. It consists of dance, music and all kinds of entertainment. Long Island pride parade has different events planned but the one which you can consider as crown jewel is the ‘Ceremony in the Park’. The festival is being held to enjoy the spirit of GLBT community and there is no admission fee charged from people visiting it. You can enjoy at food courts and community information booths present at the parade.
