Agnes (Release Me) as Headlining Act supported by Scooch
Reading Pride is proud to announce Agnes (hit single - Release Me) will be the headlining act at this years free entry pride event on the 4th September 2010, Kings Meadow, Reading. She will be supported by Scooch (Eurovision Song Contest 2007 – Flying the Flag – for you) who will be performing their Glee hits show. This year they will also be joined by such names as Drag with no name, Dave Lynn, The Boy George Experience and many many more.
This years event will also bring the community together from their usual market stall area's to a family picnic area sponsored by Alternative Families Show 2010. They are thankful to local area organisations such as Unison, The NHS (Royal Berkshire Foundation Hospital) Reading Borough Council and G3 / Out in the City as event sponsors. Also special thanks to Penta Hotels (Reading) who have been an invaluable support to them and are also their hotel partner and event sponsor for 2010.
This is the 7th year for Reading Pride and they continue to support the LGBT community by fund giving to projects in order to bring the LGBT community in the Thames Valley together. As always Reading Pride is free to all, but like any organisation any donations they get on the day goes towards supporting the community for all to enjoy.
They continue their mission to become a fund giving body for the LGBT community and work with both corporate and community involving organisations to achieve this mission. They remain here for the community.
Help them keep Reading Pride free, they do not charge entry to their festival, but any donations you can spare helps them fund the event and their community projects throughout the year.
Reading Pride was founded in 2003. They are a registered charity run solely by volunteers, aiming to promote equality and diversity, advance education and work towards eliminating discrimination in relation to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people, in Reading and across the Thames Valley. Reading Pride is best known for the annual festival they stage. Their free-to-enter event celebrates their local community and has made significant progress in encouraging the promotion of LGBT equality.
Reading Pride had a record attendance of more than 10,500 in 2009. Which has helped raise more money this year, and for the first time in Reading Pride's history, they are in the position to put money back into the local community, which they will be doing by offering their support to a number of local charities and organisations.
