Melbourne Event: Asia-Pacific Outgames

The Asia Pacific Outgames is a multi-sport tournament, a human rights conference and a cultural event to embrace Asia-Pacific's gay and lesbian community and its friends.

This is set to be an annual event, with the inaugural event having taken place in January/February 2008.  Set to be a firm favourite for all sports lovers in the AP region, the first event attracted over 1,600 participants, involved thousands of spectators and was a highlight evenf of the Midsumma Festival and Pride March for the summer of 2008.

Sports tournaments at the 1st Asia-Pacific Outgames included badminton, dancesport, hockey, lawn bowls, rowing, running, squash, swimming, ten pin bowling, tennis, volleyball and water polo.
