Skeive Filmer, The Oslo Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (OGLFF), is an annual international film festival focusing on gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered films and filmmakers. The OGLFF’s goal is to present a wide variety of domestic and international films; features, documentaries and short films - all delving into different aspects of gay, lesbian bi and transgender community.
The 20th Oslo Gay & Lesbian Film Festival takes place September 24th – October 1st 2010. During this upcoming festival week, you have the opportunity to view a wide variety of films, with approximately 40 screenings of feature films, documentaries and short films from all over the world. The opening night film is Howl. The film is set in San Francisco in 1957, and an American masterpiece is put on trial. Howl recounts the dark moment out of the tumultuous life events of Allen Ginsberg that led him to find his true voice as an artist, society's reaction, which led him to the obscenity trial, and mind-expanding animation that echoes the startling originality of the poem itself. All three coalesce in a genre-bending hybrid that brilliantly captures a pivotal moment -- the birth of a counterculture.
The closing night film is Plan B.
The festival’s programme is featured in the Norwegian gay and lesbian magazine Blikk. One can also obtain the programme schedule from the following web link: For the ninth year Oslo Gay & Lesbian Film Festival is proud to present their awards for Best Feature Film/Documentary and Best Short Film. The jury will announce the winners at the screening of the closing night film Plan B on Friday October 1 at 19.00.
For the fifthteenth time Blikk (Norway's biggest gay and lesbian magazine) will be presenting the Audience Award. Use the ballots and vote for Best Feature Film/Documentary and Best Short Film. The winners will be announced at the Closing Night Party on Wednesday, 30th September.
