The Windy City hosts a month-long programme of social, sporting, cultural and political events for Gay Pride. The grand finale is the Chicago Pride Parade, featuring more than 250 floats.
The parade runs from the corner of Halsted Street and Belmont Avenue, proceeding north on Halsted to Broadway, south on Broadway to Diversey, then east on Diversey to Cannon Drive at Lincoln Park.
With a crowd of 375,000 expected, it promises to be a fantastic spectacle, and the advice from experienced marchers is to arrive early armed with plentiful supplies - including lots of sunscreen. Entertainment includes live music, with parties to follow down at the lake and in the city´s bars and clubs.
