Incredibly popular....
G-A-Y is an incredibly popular hangout for gays in London and is high on the list of places to be experienced if you are coming to town for a few days. There are lots of comments about the security policy on the door, but I think that they just want to make sure that people are not legless and are trying to prevent anyone causing trouble.
This is definitely not a members-only bar and if you have been told that it is, it might be because the person who told you that was refused admission for another reason!
Music is great and there are lots of special events, bands, etc.
