Eros Bar, Malia, the original gay bar on Crete!

The boys that run the bar are well known on Crete by visitors and residents alike and over time have given the bar several minor makeovers so when you walk in you are never sure where the bar is going to be this week, and this year 2011 is no exception with a paint job that can I cannot quite describe being something along the lines of surrealist pyschedelia....Not only have they painted the walls but the inside of the glass doors at the front as well!

This is definitely a dancing bar and they play all the music you would expect a gay bar to play...Loudly...Lee is usually the life and soul of the party, while Yiannis tends to hide behind the bar (a shy Greek?).

Apart from a cage for you to dance in there is also a pole for thos who want to show off and somewhere there is usually a hat stand with a selection of hat and feathers boas for you to try on which lead to some funny moments when you consider that the bar is also 'straight friendly'.

Worth a visit most weekends you need to go to the website to find the exact location as the Google Map on here is completely wrong!

Late hours as always in Greece....Go after 11pm and be prepared for a wait unitl well after midnight if it going to get busy..
