Down hill year
The Box has always been a place for muscle boys to meet and pout - and that's about it. Unfortunately new owners took over a year ago - celebrating their first anniverary recently.
The first thing the new owners did was put the prices up - if I remember rightly it is about £3.50 a pint - one of the most expensive on the gay scene and much more expensive than straight bars.
They redecorated and lost the uniqueness it had - entertainment is at its lowest with the longest serving DJs hosting. The boys behind the bar - while now have a little more personality than their former body pumped counterparts stll do not cut the crust.
In all, while it is the better looking gay bars in the Covent Garden area it is still one of the worst in Central London.
The current owners should look to the activities of the newer bars in the area!
