Berlin Restaurant: San Nicci

This is a new restaurant, by the creator of the famous Borchardt, celebrity hangout and still one of the most popular places to go in Berlin.  San Nicci has an excellent location, sandwiched between the Admiralspalast theatre and the Melia hotel and only a few steps from the Bahnhof Friedrichstrasse. 

Large windows overlook the busy road and the restaurant has a wonderful buzz, being able to seat small or large groups.  The food is a combination of Italian and German food but the main theme is definietly Italian - although there are some interesting twists to liven up what could be standard Italian dishes.  

Interesting decor - a large well, lit room with some wonderful period features but decidedly modern in feel and look.  Larger then lifesize pictures adorn one wall - mainly men in interesting poses with varying degrees of clothing.  

This is not a dedicated gay restaurant but is certainly popular with gays and is worth visiting if you are in Berlin.
