Shaking off the puritanical, squeaky clean image of that Geneva seems to throw up, La Bretelle is a bawdy, boozy bar on Rue des Etuves that draws together a delightful mix of chic waifs and strays. As well as a large lesbian crowd, the venue attracts lots of students and various other alternative clients. Looking like a traditional tavern, the place has a great cosy and homely feel, and the wall painting of the Seven Deadly Sins normally raises a grin and some very irreligious banter. There is even live accordion music at the weekends if you fancy a folk jig or two with your girl or guy of the evening.
