Guest House, San FranciscoThe 24 Henry Guesthouse is one of the most famous gay friendly, inexpensive guesthouses of San Francisco where almost every store, restaurant and bar is at least gay and lesbian friendly, and is more likely gay and lesbian owned and managed.
The 24 Henry Guesthouse was built in the late 1880's. It survived the great earthquake and fire of 1906, as it is located on geologically solid ground and south of Van Ness Boulevard, the stopping point for the fire. In the mid-1980's, previous owners Dan and Jay converted the house into a gay and lesbian bed and breakfast. The current owner, Walter, stayed at 24 Henry in the 1980's and early 1990's when visiting San Francisco from his home in San Diego. Walter liked the guesthouse so much that he bought it in 1992, and then bought an additional one, four blocks away in 1999, their Village House. The 24 Henry guest house is located in the very heart of the Castro District at Castro and 18th Streets.
24 Henry Guest house provides facilities such as free local calls 24 hours, free wireless DSL, Bar and restaurant service providing all types of foods and drinks which are open all the time etc. The environment in this Guesthouse is smoke free. People from all over the world (mainly gay and lesbian communities), if had a visit in San Francisco and made their stay in this guesthouse of Castro, then the facilities and qualities of the guesthouse will make them feel at home. The Inn is inexpensive for San Francisco, even compared to other B&B's in the Castro. If the main goal is to save money and still have fun, this guesthouse is the one that would be fine.
