Mr Paul Lodder, a former lawyer and the owner of Hotel Orlando, invites you to enjoy a memorable stay in Amsterdam! The historical house, built around 1680, is situated in the heart of Amsterdam’s Canal Belt. Built during the height of The Netherland’s Golden Age, this five-storey patrician house is characterised by its typical ‘holbol-gevel’ front, one of the few left in Amsterdam. In 1994, Paul Lodder decided to drop out of the rat race, acquired it to realise a new existence and fulfil an old dream. A seasoned traveller himself, he transformed the Hotel Orlando into ‘the nice, small, sophisticated hotel de charme with a homely feel where he would like to stay himself’. The hotel provides personal accommodation and generous hospitality in a friendly, laid-back atmosphere, just to make its guests feel at home. A room of one’s own, indeed. After a major refurbishing operation Hotel Orlando reopened in April 2004 and is now a 3-star hotel.
