Though Venice has a very small gay scene, it retains its originality, and everything is infused with a particularly Italian and romantic vibe. Margaret Duchamp on Compo Santa Marherita is no exception. This is not a specifically gay club – there are very few of these and their clientele changes often anyway – but is takes something of an “anything goes” attitude. It is a favourite amongst students, gays, lesbians and bisexuals, but unfortunately just as expensive as other Venice venues. The outdoor tables provide that al fresco feeling, whilst indoor the décor such as the semi-circular bar is sleek and sophisticated.
