You can’t get gayer than Soho, and in the middle of this famous gay district is Old Compton Street, which is lined with gay bars and clubs as well as cafes, restaurants, book shops, sex shops and everything in between. Soho is an acquired taste and some travellers might just want to visit for a day or a night before moving on to London’s calmer attractions, but if you’re looking to party hard, accommodation in the centre of the action is what you’ll need.
Soho B&B is a tiny, no-frills bed and breakfast hotel, located right on Old Compton Street. Essentially, it is a two-bedroom flat that has been converted into a B&B, but its smallness and relatively unknown status adds to its charm. Guests can choose from either a double room or a room with two double beds, so accommodating four, so if you’re travelling in a group or if you’ve picked up a few friends during happy hour at the bar, it’s just right. The décor and furnishing is basic but clean and neutral, but then, if you’re staying in central Soho, it’s unlikely you’ll hang out indoors much anyway. There is a minimum of 3 nights stay and a discount on stays longer than a week, so it’s not the place to stumble to if you missed the last tube and need a place to crash for the night, but room rates are relatively cheap considering the location at £110 per night.
