Getto opened its doors in 1996. The basic concept was to create a place where people could meet, drink, eat and be merry. It is a place with an attitude free zone for gays, lesbians, bi, queers and straights. The sort of place you could visit once or three times a week, wear full leathers, dress up und dress down, or bring your mom. The Getto, together with a small army of like-minded creative people made this concept into a real insiders' tip in Amsterdam.
