Watch out very soon for three fantastic new features:

Personalised Photo Album - all photos will become part of an album that can be separately administrated. Albums can be private / public, be tagged and named. A great way to share photos with friends while making sure that what is private, stays private.
Blog categories - you will be able to access a wider variety of blogs and even chose where your blog post sits on the site.
Member status - You will be able to gain member status by being active on gaypedia. You will therefore see who is really happening on gaypedia.

Prepare for Pride Season

At the end of May the gaypedia team joined the queer alternative radio station, FYi RADiO to provide expert opinions on gay travel.

Both the IGLTA - the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association and Mantrav were present. Here just a couple of findings:

Gay travel can be but is not always about meeting new sexual partners!
Gay income is often over estimated and based on either incomplete or unrepresentative studies that have originated in the US.

It was great to meet those of you who were able to attend and to hear your opinions on these interesting topics. We received some great feedback on the website. The programme Homo Holidays is available now for download. Find out more on the gaypedia blog.

Out and about with gaypedia

Athens

We took a short break to Athens, Greece to uncover the history and homosexuality of the country. It was incredible to learn and friendly and welcoming the city is to tourists, everyone we came across were helpful and gave some excellent advice.

It’s not a big openly gay city, but there are some great ‘gay-friendly’ bars in the area called Gazi. There was a brilliant atmosphere Thursday – Sunday, so if you’re looking for a weekend break – Athens is definitely a place to check out.
